“Clone Crisis” Released

“Clone Crisis,” the second book in the Gate Ghosts series, is available on Amazon U.S. in ebook and print versions.

I recommend first reading the previous two series of the Earthers’ saga, The Silver Ships and Pyreans, to understand some of the nuances in this new series.

Summary: The Sisterhood’s dangerous militarist sect finds a foothold in a broad swath of space inhabited by the descendants of Earth’s colony ship, Destiny. They’re welcomed by corporations, whose leaders see unbridled opportunity in the sisters’ advanced tech.

Surprised that Cremsylon didn’t leave FTL comm relays in the Delhart system and Naiad system.

Can a traveler transit through a wormhole or does it need better shielding/absorbing layers to protect from the radiation? Or would a sting ship design minus the beam be an option. It would be a good trading point for Cremsylon if Naiad ever decides to negotiate with him.

K, you first comment presupposes that Cremsylon and the SADEs knew what they would require constant communication with Naiad. When they left the home world, there was no one that they would be communicating with on a regular basis.

As to the second item, its a good question. A traveler is limited to sailing in a system to utilize the gravitational fields. Sailing from a system to a wormhole, and then exiting the wormhole to sail to the next system could very well tax the power crystals, leaving the ship stranded in the dark. Book 3 in the Gate Ghost series throws a curve that requires most parties to rethink their goals.

It isn’t a matter of active/constant communicating, it is more of being informed of any developments on Naiad which is passive or one-way transmissions. Samuel is in a position to relay any information to the SADEs if there was a FTL comm relay.

Just spoke with my narrator, Nicole Poole. She starts recording “Clone Crisis” next week. It takes about four weeks to complete the series of operations and upload the master files to ACX, Audible’s back end servers. After that, ACX will take anywhere from three to four weeks to proof the audiobook file and create an Audible website page. If you’re counting, those times total to mean a release in the latter half of December. So, you might just get a holiday present, Mike.

Great read! Good details expanding characters & storyline.

    Thanks Scott.

I really appreciate the development of several of the characters, both human and SADE, especially Bethany. I also appreciate the detail of the story early on; ie, many players, a lot going on. But…you keep us grounded with the main characters throughout. And…you give us a lifeline to favorable memories of past characters and story lines through the sades and technology.

    I’m enjoying it.

Side note: I understand Scott to be quite the cook/chef. Might we read of the grand opening of the Miners’ Pit Restaurant & Bar in his area someday?!?

Thank you for the generous compliments about “Clone Crisis,” Paul. As to the opening of a Miners Pit, if you’ll supply plenty of spacers, I could be interested. An empath or two would be helpful too! 😉
