“Chaotic Futures” Released

“Chaotic Futures,” the ninth book in the Gate Ghosts series, is available on Amazon U.S. in ebook. A glossary (PDF) will be available on my website before the audiobook is released.

I recommend reading the previous two series of the Earthers’ saga, The Silver Ships and Pyreans, to understand some of the nuances in this third series.

Summary: Cremsylon’s and his companions’ visits to the Imperium Empire provided an opportunity for Kreus to contact the Imperium governor. These intrusions initiate an odd sequence of events for the AI.

Both… You are making me feel emotions while I am pretending to work… It is becoming harder to hide my reading… may need to take the day off to finish!!

The summary sounds quite exciting! I just finished the previous audiobook and it’s already a hard wait for the next. 😀
The series is as gripping as always, keep up the great work.

Thanks you for the compliment, Fluffy. I can’t give you a firm date on the next audiobook. My narrator is traveling for a month. When she returns, the schedule will be worked out.

I know I say the same thing every time but it was much easier when there were sooo many to read now finishing one is frustrating because you know you have to wait for the next.

Another good read, looking forward to how things work out between Conclave and Woot sisters.
I had a bit of confusion though starting in chapter 31, as you started calling Tocknicka, the outpost commander, Ticnikrok instead.

A few readers picked up on that error, Ambrose. As the reports of errors have dwindled to zero, this is when I make corrections to the manuscript and reload the ebook and print book.

Just finished Chaotic Futures and now I go into my second reading because I just can’t stay away from these characters. Another amazing adventure! LOVE this and all your series – I’ll just keep re-reading until the next one is available. Thank you for what you do!

Like you, Jill, I enjoy my characters. It’s what makes it easier to return to writing the next novel so soon after publishing the previous one. Thanks for reading!

I really enjoyed Chaotic Futures. I highly enjoy The Silver Ships Series and Gate Ghosts Series. I will be reading the other stories too. The way you created a symbiotic relationship between biologicals and SADE’s is flawless, in my opinion. The universe that you created is so massive and complex yet there is such a great flow to it all that is in no way confusing. Thank you for sharing your stories with us and I can’t wait to read more!

    Mr. Jucha,
I’m almost finished reading Chaotic Futures. Another GREAT read. I love the SADES and look forward to having one in my household. LOL. Please continue writing because I truly enjoy your work.

If I had a SADE in my house, I’d need a mellow one. Otherwise, they might be critical of my writing — not that it doesn’t deserve a good critique. But, if I could have only two wishes for conclave tech, I’d go with an implant and cell gen injections. A reader once asked me why an implant if there was no one else with one. My answer was the implant would allow me to communicate with a computer, because I’m a mediocre typist. “Empire Turmoil” is due out in late September.

Having just finished “Chaotic Futures”, thanks for answering my immediate question in your comment above without me having to ask it, “When will ‘Empire Turmoil’ come out?” I have read your entire series to date having started it last year when I heard of The Silver Ships series recommended by Leo Laporte on his Tech Guy podcasts. Once I started, I couldn’t stop. Now I’ll go through withdrawal until “Empire Turmoil” becomes a reality. Thanks for your imagination and fantastic ability to communicate to us as readers without implants. 🙂

Excited to start Chaotic Futures. I’ve read all 40 of your books and love them, thank you for keeping them coming. I escape to the far future through these stories before sleep each night to take my mind someplace optimistic and where humans have evolved in inspiring ways. Wonderfully plausible and compelling.

I’d like to think the way in which I depict most humans and the conclave races in my books will be the future. I recognize that this isn’t a realistic attitude, but I’m hopeful. When I visit with my characters, it does seem possible! Thanks for your support, Michelle.

Just finished Chaotic Futures, loved it!
For someone who wasn’t a ‘sci fi’ reader you got me hooked. I have read all of your books and wait impatiently for the next.
It’s a wonderful escape to a kinder, truly amazing world, thank you!
I was part way through the Silver Ships series when I heard an interview on NPR regarding AI. The timing was perfect! The person being interviewed urged us to ‘be kind to our AI’ as they could turn on us. Where is Alex Racine when you need him?!

Judy, I enjoyed your response. I remember when early readers urged me to tell the story of how the SADEs came into existence. I didn’t write that story for a couple years, because I didn’t have an answer. Then it dawned on me that child rearing faced the same challenges. For a SADE, development would take place in months instead of a couple of decades. Yet, the answer was the same. Provide intelligent, nurturing mentorship. Thank you for your support, Judy.

So looking forward to next adventure. Sentient AIs trying to find their way without having proper guidance or interaction. The Krackus empire is developing cracks and not all of the conclave’s making. Love the Queller development, serious hidden history there. Peña and her group have really come on to be helpful. Still looking for Alex and Renee SADES to pop up to say hi. Can’t believe there aren’t any, but that’s another story, I know. This series is crazy good SH. Counting the daze to next installment. Thanks

Thanks, Mike. I usually complete my proofreaders’ submission late in the evening and then upload the book. As I’m on the West Coast, by the time I get up I’m late to the launch party. 🙂
