“Axis Crossing” Released

“Axis Crossing,” the first book in the Gate Ghosts series, is now available on Amazon U.S. in ebook and print versions.

I recommend first reading the previous two series of the Earthers’ saga, The Silver Ships and Pyreans, to understand some of the nuances in this new series.

Summary: The descendants of a fourth Earth colony ship, Destiny, successfully establish a foothold in unoccupied space. The colonists persevere and expand through wormholes to remote systems. Their worlds are at odds with each other, and their lives are made more complicated by the arrival of strangers in an alien ship.

It is more of if he is going to do one colony ship group for this series or not, minus the interactions of the other known previous groups.

I’m committed to writing this series about the Earthers’ fourth colony ship, Mike. It’s too early to say anything about the fifth colony ship. I’ve trouble thinking about the plot of next book much less the next series. As for the Gate Ghosts, Mike, you’re welcome!

Thanks. I just purchased all 25 Kindle books, which is something I’ll only do when I find myself rereading them. I’ve only done this with two other authors.

Question – what was the name of the ship that founded the Confederation? When I reread the entire Silver Ships series last month I was looking for this.

You honor me, Mike, which I deeply appreciate. As to your question, the simple answer is that I never named the ship that founded Méridien. At the time, I didn’t think it was important. Later, about book five or six, I realized that the series had longevity. By then, it seemed ancillary to suddenly mention the ship’s name. Who knows? It might find its way into forthcoming novels.

Congratulations Scott on the official release of the first book of your new series Gate Ghosts. The accolades you’ve received from dedicated readers for your previous two series are so very much deserved. It’s why myself, and many others, are looking forward to reading/listening to Axis Crossing.

And thank you for not hanging up your author hat. Cheers.

I sympathsize with your concerns, Paul. I’ve seen many authors, especially indies, give up on writing. Later, I discovered most quit the business due to financial constraints or personal issues in their lives or family members. To borrow phrasing often used by my readers, “So far, I’m enjoying it.” 🙂

Mr. Jucha (attempt at sounding serious)…I don’t know how you do it. An amazing story and stellar (pun intended) start to the Gate Ghosts series. I like your development of the 2 1/2 main characters. You were able to do so in a logical not rushed natural common sense timeline, all during the first book. And I enjoyed the supporting Jucha’ians (trying to create a new phrase to make a nickel). Without spoiling…I’ll just say it was grand to see some familiars and have mentions of others no longer.

        Thanks for writing this, Scott.

I will use this as well with editorial license and relate it to the series: “So far, I’m enjoying it.”

I wonder how long before an Earth envoy and what other party, Omnian/Conclave/Consortium/Outpost, has to show up and deal with the Naiad ‘s broken laws and lack of enforceable authority.

Hope all is well, and don’t take pestering from folks like me as any pressure, take care of your self and family first!! (That’s also selfish of me because if you take care of your self then better chance that we will get 100+ more books from you!)

I do see the method in your madness, as it were, Randy. Don’t mind the brief glimpse into my personal life. The challenges are being handled, and the books continue to be written. In themselves, they are a release! At this rate, it’s a bit of a race to meet Oct. 15th for “Clone Crisis,” but I’m determined to win.

hello mister Jucha just finished listening to the last book in the silver ships series and it was a wonderful experience i love your world building and can’t wait to listen to the gate ghost series. It’s so refreshing to experience a world in which human’s are not the bad guys, extinct or at constant war, but try live in peace, prosper, evolve and accomplish so much in technology and culture. The heros have such a wonderful character development i really care for each one of them. I know it’s soon to hope but i wish we get to see an interaction with some of our heros from the silver ships series.

Thank you, Sergei, for your generous compliments. I’m pleased you enjoyed the series. The “Axis Crossing” audiobook should be released in early October, if not late September.

    Hi Scott,
I have followed you through the Silver Ships and Pyreans series and now Gate Ghosts, and I must say, once again you have not disappointed. An excellent story with solid characters who the reader can get behind and cheer for. The old favorites blend well with the new introductions and keep things fresh. From the timeline, many centuries have elapsed since Conclave, surely the SADEs must have the makings of a Q Gate stored in a hold somewhere onboard? It would be nice to give these descendants a chance to reunite with Sol and meet the Alliance.
Many thanks for a great story, looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks for your continuing support, Steve, and I appreciate the generous comments about “Axis Crossing,” the first novel in the Gate Ghost series. I’m wondering how the SADEs might have not only solved the technological problem of replicating a Q-Gates’ power supply but managed to miniaturize the entire gate’s structure to fit in a ship’s bay. Remember, magic wands aren’t my style. 😉
