“Alien Intrigue” Released

“Alien Intrigue,” the sixth book in the Gate Ghosts series, is available on Amazon U.S. in ebook. The print version is coming soon.

I recommend reading the previous two series of the Earthers’ saga, The Silver Ships and Pyreans, to understand some of the nuances in this third series.

Summary: The SADE, Z, extracts Kelter from the warrens and transports him to Omnia to regain his strength. He intends to deliver Kelter to Jumanus. The conclave fleet waits in this system, where the Radag warriors, the Imperium’s dreaded mercenaries, were defeated.

I think of the Radags as wild cards in the Gate Ghosts’ plot line. At this time, I’m not sure what to do with them, but they could become major players.

I was wondering this as well. The Radag commanders we’ve met so far seem to be quite intelligent and willing to work with the Conclave. Not sure I’d trust them but they’re definitely not fans of the Krakus Imperium so this may be a case of the enemy of my enemy …

He is likely going to be required to have some scenario that puts a Radag negotiator is in a position to interact with a SADE assuming he goes with that.

Amicus meus, inimicus inimici mei. More like the Radags are frienemies.

Read it twice already. Outrageous to say the least. So many good plot lines. Quellers a new wake-up call. Love it. Next.

Apologies Dave, I had to edit out the spoilers that you mentioned. The novel should be online for, at least, three months before the actions are discussed.

Will we get to see how the Outpost/Conclave life is going, since it is mentioned int he summary?
Can’t wait for the audio version to be released~

The Gate Ghosts’ story lines are getting ever more complex, Fluffy. I try to ensure that many aspects of the growing plot are featured in successive novels. In “Alien Intrigue,” there is a definitive focus on the outpost station’s evolution.

Thanks for your understanding about the spoilers, Dave. Gate Ghosts #7, “Deadly Gambits,” should be released by mid-January. My editor and proofreaders aren’t available to me in late December.

Mike, unfortunately, I’m not in control of the final phase for the year end novel. The holidays throw off my editor’s and proofreaders’ availability. Usually, I’m fortunate to get it out by the 13th or 14th. We’ll see how the days break for them this year. (P.S. Be careful not to publish your birthday, Mike, which I edited out. Just looking after you, my friend.)

I agree with Mike it would be a nice birthday present. However, after 80+ years I’ve learned not to be disappointed at my December birthdate.

Once again a most enjoyable read. I was wondering what happened to the banishers? Wouldn’t they be the perfect weapon against Krackus ships? The SADEs should be able to calculate and focus the energy release required, especially after repairing the Krackus ships, and centuries of annuals since their first use.
I anxiously await the next installment, and where can I find the nearest Jatouche tank?

Check out the exchange between Dorsa and Shane about halfway through the book.

The Elvian probes might seem to be overkill, but, in the period between The Silver Ships and Gate Ghosts, I imagined the conclave requiring the use of the probes more than the banishers. The challenges from greater foes is indicated by the growing number of outposts. As to the Jatouche medical tank, I find myself wanting one as a holiday gift more than any other piece of conclave tech. (Narrator caught the Dorsa error and it was corrected on a later iteration of the book.)

Another fun read that has me looking forward to the next book.
A couple questions, are the freighters not using the Gravity engines and faux Swei Swee shell? I thought by this time all Conclave ships would be using that as they don’t require fuel in system, and that such ships would be fast enough to outrun standard missiles.
The second question I have is about when Peña says that carrier aren’t the most efficient for ferrying raw ores and such, why not consider a new design based on the Axis Ships? Using carriers for now makes sense as that is what they have. Unless I’ve forgotten something, and that is certainly possible, the rim planets don’t have casinos and luxury spa’s or the like to be vacation destinations. Thus people traveling on the Axis Ships are doing so for business or visiting family which to my mind sounds like moving people is a minor part of the Axis Ships’ purpose and even few people since cloning has stopped. So paying to have more carriers built when they have an existing layout to design a ship better suited for this purpose has me a little baffled.

Ambrose, at this time, the sisters only have the three carriers produced a Thartath. They’ve yet to take an order from the Helgart hub, and I’ve yet to figure out what type of ship that would be. The primary delay for the start of the transport enterprise is the recruitment, implanting, and training of the required human pilots and crews. As for conclave freighters, they would have the Swei Swee shell and grav engines. However, the freighter is an enormous ship. That amount of mass takes time an power to accelerate and decelerate. In most cases, grav engines would be used when the main propulsion engines failed. Thanks for your thoughts!

Thanks for taking the time to respond. That cleared up my confusion about the freighter. The conversations in chapters 12 and 16 made is sound like they planned to use carriers. I look forward to seeing what you decide to use.

Third read as good as first. Someone earlier mentioned Dorsa vacillating him/her, poor girl has trouble maintaining her sexuality. All through this series I’ve been anticipating Alex and Renee SADEs but now I’m thinking this is about protectors, Julian and his group. I’m thinking when Hector finds colony 5, which Alex sent him after they will make appearance. Just a thought for future intrigue. These books get you to thinking all over the place. So much fun to speculate. Love it. Just thinking out loud.

Finished reading the whole silver ships series, again. Still love it so excited about next book. You never know what lurks behind the next anomaly. So scary. Imperium is gonna try to put a super whammy on the fleet. Exciting. Still many aliens to be returned home and that hasn’t gone smoothly either. Such fun; can’t wait. Need some SADEs helping with the typing.
