“Enemy at Bay” Released

“Enemy at Bay,” the second novel in the Cercians series, is available on Amazon U.S. in ebook. A glossary (PDF) will be available on my website before the audiobook is released.

I recommend reading the previous three series of the Earthers’ saga, The Silver Ships, Pyreans, and Gate Ghosts, to understand some of the nuances in this fourth series.

Summary: After the conclave evicts the mercenary forces surrounding Cercia, Mila Pappas has the opportunity to lead the first wave on an offensive against the races in their territories. However, Mila’s strategy quickly evolves from one of offense to persuasion.

I’m starting to get nervous – what am I going to read when the Cercians series is done? 🙂 These two books are in the top 5 of all 40 Earther’s novels. Thank you for sharing, Storyteller.

Reading the part about setting up the traveler dome and foundry, and it got me wondering why the Alliance races never set up restaurants and gift shops. Domes seem like the perfect place for tourist traps.

I think of the alliance domes like highly-traveled and efficient way stations, Ambrose. They’re rather like an airport without check-in, security procedure or waiting for flights. Land, get in the queue, and journey, or arrive and exit via the tunnels to a shuttle.

Finished Enemy at Bay. I love the story and the interactions. It’s amazing to see how much Sadie has matured in every way since first meeting the Defenders. I don’t want to go into too much detail since others might not be done. I look forward to the next book.

It’s easy for a young woman to develop a sense of self-confidence and maturity, if you surround her with supportive friends. It’s a shame that doesn’t happen in our present times!

It is a great shame! I think that’s one of the reasons why I love your books. They encourage and give a blueprint to those kinds of encounters.

After finishing Enemy at Bay, another great book, I worried that might be shut down for your DEI-ness.

Well, you know, Martin, I’ve been accused of worse, and I’m still writing what I like. As an eighteen-year-old fan recently wrote to me, “SADEs rule!” That seems to say it all for me!

Loving the new series. You have such strong characters. You have some of the best female characters. I love how the character and story has evolve. Thank you again for the enjoyable read.

You’re welcome, Colleen. “One of Three,” the third book in the Cercians series, should be available in ebook in the U.S. tomorrow.
