“Dual Domains” Released

“Dual Domains” the fifth book in the Gate Ghosts series, is available on Amazon U.S. in ebook and print versions.

I recommend reading the previous two series of the Earthers’ saga, The Silver Ships and Pyreans, to understand some of the nuances in this third series.

Summary: The Queller race has lived for millennia in isolation. However, a secret kept by the Queller senior elder and a few associates drives the elder to make contact with another race. Little do the Quellers know that they send a QASAP ship, an autonomous search ship, to engage the conclave.

    “You’ll be happy to know that the Emergence with Commodore Dorsa mya Jaknas is at Naiad,” Yerli said. “He and his sisters will be continuing the project.” Poor Dorsa mya jaknas continues to have difficulty remaining a female SADE.

      Likely caused by a meridien hacker that spent too much time in the sol system creating a gender bender virus.

        I’m not so sure it would have been a Méridien, K. I think the operation would taken familiarity with Lemgart genetic code, pointing to an alliance suspect(s). My credits are on a Veklock triad. 🙂

          Of course it would have to have been a Meridien, every other advanced race you introduced had a less than advance expertise in AI and programming.

      Thank you for the error report, Martin. Good to know that we only missed one place abut Dorsa during the editor’s and proofreaders’ reviews.

    My problem with your books is I read them too fast and have to wait for the next one… love the Gorders as a new race!!

      Apologies for the angst, Amanda, but that’s the nature of a series that fires the imagination. That’s always been my goal! Btw, I like the Gorders too!

          Hi Amanda, I expect to publish “Alien Intrigue,” Gate Ghosts #6, in early October. The “Dual Domains” audiobook should be available by mid-September.

    Your books are consumption for the soul. Alas I find myself waiting again for the next meal. Thank you

    Well, that book was delicious. Quellers may have to suffer a little more before they allow for SADE help. Still think they are sentient porcupines. Who’d a thought our mythical dragons were actually Gorders. Fascinating. Still looking for Alex and Renee SADES to make an appearance. And Kraus ought to be about to get his legs. Wouldn’t that just frost the emperators. {sp?} if he walked in to their meeting? This series is just crazy good. Thanks SH. Next?

      For the past two years, I’ve been playing with concepts for the final Earthers series. I won’t go into the details but a few of the elements I’ve considered are the descendants of the fifth colony ship, the Messinants, and those aboard Hector’s Quadrant. I hope to have the general idea solidified by the end of 2023.

        Can’t wait to see it. I much rather think of the Messinants as a living society than one lost to their own technology and shortcomings. I’m sure the Messinants should have enough technology to rival the Conclave.
        As a Star Trek fan, I enjoy positive science fiction stories. I do like some space war stories as well, but the positive spin on the future is humanity and the rest of races in the galaxy is always welcome.

          Thank you for your thoughts, Jorge. I’ve yet to consider the societal nature of the Messinants, which would define the meeting with the conclave. There’s another year or two of work yet to go on Gate Ghosts.

            I’ll offer you this hint, Mike. Please send your guesses to my email address. The original star’s name of the Méridien home world was Mane. The colonists changed it to Oikos. The planet the colonists were to settle on had been given a typical astronomers’ designation. It was also changed.

    I’m not shy, I’ll leave my guesses here.

    QUOTE: The original star’s name of the Méridien home world was Mane.

    Anything after you wrote was to throw us off the first sentence, which is the REAL hint.

    And, that’s easy…in the least, I know the planet will be in the Giddy’up & Go Galaxy.

    Potential planet names:

    Equinea
    Triggeron
    Blackbeautyus
    Secretariatborealis
    Hoovearia
    Horseus (that would be TOO obvious though)

    I’m checking on some others with the International Astronomical Union.

      Paul, you’re over thinking it. Consider the following:

      North American ships:
      New Terra -> New Terra
      Honora Belle -> Pyre

      European-Indian ships:
      Destiny -> Naiad (Greek mythology water nymph)
      ??? -> Meridia
      ??? -> ??? (Next series hopefully)

      I’ve sent my guess to Scott.

            Be patient with me, Mike. I’m pushing through the two review cycles each finished manuscript receives to deliver to my editor on the deadline I set.

          You have my sympathy, Mike. I don’t miss the tedious meetings I was required to sit through as a senior manager in Fortune 500 companies. Thank goodness, I no longer have to attend them.

    I’ll be interested to see if Alex and Rene’s SADEs make an appearance. That would be super interesting. There is to much going on with Empire that it’s to early to bring in discovery of 5th colony ship. That’s a story for a whole new series. Delving into the dissident races would be interesting. And Kraus still needs his legs, that would be sweet. Look how Samuel turned out. Just some thoughts I think would be fun. Love this series. Read Conclave and Domains, Again.

    Do someone can help me with a description of a quadrant ship? Sometimes I struggle trying to compare with the other ones in size and shape

      The traveler is displayed on more than one cover and has the appearance of a seedling. A Trident has a smaller central hull and too much larger outboard hulls, which are the warship’s beam weapons. The sisters’ carrier is a long slender model. The Quadrant is simply and oversized carrier, its longer and deeper, with more powerful engines. It got its name from the 4-engine configuration.
