“Sol”, the fifth book in the Silver Ships series, will be released on Amazon on July 1st.

For the fans out there, “Sol” concludes the story started in the fourth book, “Haraken”. Alex and company have chosen to preempt United Earth by showing up at Sol before the Earthers send their fleet to the Confederation.

To those that have asked the question, “Are more books planned for this series?” The answer is yes. At least three more novels and a short story, following “Sol” are in the planning stage.

Hooray! I’m so excited to read Sol–thank you for the notification/update! I know you said there are 3 more novels and a short story–did you have any rough (and I realize it may be more of a guess at this point) idea on timeline of those books? For example, are you hoping to have all 3 released in the next year? Two years? …2 months…whatever your schedule may be!

Hello Griffiths270, since I write about five to seven hours a day, six day a week, I’m able to produce a novel about every four months, three per year. “Sol” is due to be released July 1st, which places the following book release in November, providing, of course, I can keep up my schedule. Cheers!

Woohoo! I am so excited! Each time a new book comes out I have a night with very little sleep because I can’t stop reading until I finish the book!

Hello Josiah, over my lifetime I must have four or five thousand books, but only a small portion of those caused me to stay up reading until I finished the book. It was such a sweet, sad moment when I read the final pages of the ones I loved. It’s nice to hear that my books are enabling readers to have that same enjoyment I gained from reading my favorite authors.

Hello, Eli, apologies for the late response. June was a hectic month. I spent the time getting all my ducks in a row in order to launch “Sol,” the fifth book in the Silver Ships series, on July 1st. I thank you for your praise. I do appreciate hearing from my readers! Hope you enjoyed “Sol”!

Scott, I just want to say Sol was absolutely amazing. I preordered it and stayed up all night after downloading it just to finish. I had to reread the whole series in anticipation this last weekend. I have say, of all the books ive read this series is definitely my favorite. Thank you for your storytelling and I look forward to many more.

I just finished Sol. My friends would say I just finished all 5 of them considering it was all done within this last week, but that’s how I read. You almost lost me with Meridien, there was a long chunk that seemed to bore me, then the last 20% of the book brought me back 110%. I read at the end it was the end of the trilogy. Almost lost me again but Amazon suggest #4 and I almost cried! I finished Sol an hour ago and almost went into a rage because i couldn’t find Espero anywhere…then I saw the release date of Sol, and now I feel a fool. Then I saw how fast you were putting these books out! You are Alex Racine turned author brother! I saw your comment that says Nov for possible next release!? I wouldn’t hold that to you, but expect me to be 1st in the virtual line!

In 1989 I was 6 years old, my older sister who read ANY TIME she was conscious forced me to a local library book sale. Getting rid of old books. I was beyond mad! My sister, almost done filling 4 paper bags full said that if I just chose two books we would go home immediately. I picked up LeGuin’s Earthsea because it had large print and seemed short, and Bova’s Wind’s of Altair because it had a cool bumpy cover…my first 2 non picture books I might add. My sister created a monster…or a hardcore bookworm to be more accurate. All this time and easily more than 10k books under my belt I’ve never been able to decide which of those 2 is truly my favorite author. Now I struggle between 3. Even if you never write another word, thank-you, Ser Jucha.

Hello Ibrahim, some interesting parallels between your history and mine. It was my older sister who introduced me to a library although it was three decades earlier than you. At this point, I would hate to hazard a guess at the number of books I’ve read, but, suffice it to say, it numbers in the many thousands too. Coincidentally, Ursula K. Le Guin is one of my favorite authors. Her first contact novels have always made me think about the false assumptions humans make about each other and other species, even on our world. What mistakes would we make if we were to discover life on another world? Despite the ups and downs of your reading experience with my series, I’m pleased that overall you enjoyed it. Rest assured, their are more installments in the story of Alex and company yet to some!

Scott, Hopefully you don’t mind but I have a couple questions for you about how the harakens adapt going forward. Their technological edge can’t last forever, and their industry and population will hamper them unless they can increase their immigration (confederation independents? UE citizens? SADEs? progeny centers?). They just don’t have the numbers right now. the confederation is the juggernaut in the region and they will be able to grow a lot faster than any of the other 3 big players (UE, New Terra, Haraken), with their ideology shift due to the decades of attacks on their people, that seems to provide the start for future tensions. On the military front, the Haraken carriers are heavily undefended and they don’t have dedicated warships to form a backbone of their space force. The harakens would have serious issues in a protracted war with an near equal adversary. the UE had a great idea with various types of ships to support each other but they were just vastly inferior technologically (barely ahead of New Terra before travelers in tech) but even they would of overrun the harakens with sheer numbers. The travelers can only get the harakens so far if a determined enemy enters the region or even if the Nu’all(sp?) return en masse. Do you see Alex taking more of the official president role and fully pass the military decisions off to tatia and the haraken space force?

Hello Travis, you’ve pinpointed many of the challenges facing the Harakens in their corner of the universe. The upcoming stories take on these issues, beginning with the next novel, “Espero,” the sixth in the series, which responds to your question of the limitations of the carrier-traveler ship combination. “Espero,” also provides an answer to your last question. I have a novella planned after “Espero,” which sets up a significant development in the Confederation and will create a powerful impact on the Harakens’ future. Overall, its the spirit of the Harakens that will attract many to their world, changing it even as they join. I would love to say more, but then I would be delivering spoilers. Thanks for the questions, Travis.
